Korean media described the moment when seven members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s Politburo Standing Committee appeared for the first time before international media.

Apollo News cited Yonhap describing that when Xi Jinping led the Politburo Standing Committee to greet the media, everything in the auditorium seemed to stop for a moment.

An hour before the arrival of the new Politburo Standing Committee, the atmosphere in the press conference room on the 3rd floor of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing became strangely quiet.

The keystrokes paused. Everyone was quiet when Xi Jinping stepped out, followed by the rest of the Politburo Standing Committee.

Yonhap added it was common knowledge that the Politburo Standing Committee would have four new members. However, facing seven members on stage was a shock for foreign reporters.

After the press conference, a foreign reporter sighed and said he was shocked that no one on the CCP Politburo Standing Committee could contain Xi Jinping. Xi, in the new term, can unleash his free will without restrictions.

According to Reuters, all CCP Politburo Standing Committee members are Xi loyalists. It shows Xi’s absolute victory in CCP’s 20th national Congress.

Many people predict that, at this rate, like Mao Zedong, Xi will probably be the general secretary of the CCP until he dies.
