Elmer Yuen, a 71-years-old businessman founder of Hong Kong Freedom Beacon (HKFB), discussed Sun Lijun’s case. According to Yuen, Sun Lijun had secretly controlled the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) and kept the secret of the CCP’s concealment of the new Covid-19 pandemic.

Elmer Yuen described Sun as “extremely powerful,” as he was in charge of protecting national political security and monitoring the calls of anyone, including leaders of the state. Sun Lijun is also responsible for the relationship between the CCP Ministry of Public Security and the Hong Kong police system.

In December 2017, Sun Lijun took office as the Director of the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Public Security. Then Hong Kong Security Director Li Jiachao signed the “Agreement between the University of and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on the Mutual Notification Mechanism on the Application of Coercive Criminal Measures or Criminal Prosecution” in Beijing. Zhao Kezhi, Minister of Public Security, and Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, attended as witnesses.

According to the report, the Jilin Procuratorate accused Sun Lijun of crimes while holding long-listed high-ranking positions, mainly in Shanghai. Sun was in charge of the Health and Medical related position and of Public security, meaning the Police Department in Shanghai.

Elmer Yuen estimated that Sun’s net worth could be in the double-digit billions of yuan. The amount that Sun transferred to Australia alone has exceeded $1.6 billion.

Sun Lijun was accused of manipulating the Hong Kong Exchange

Regarding the behavior of “stock market manipulation,” Elmer Yuen said that Sun Lijun even controlled the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx), “The software used by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange comes from the Founder Group of Peking University.

“This software may be in their control and whether this power is obtained or not. He (Sun Lijun) has a part in the control behind it.”

Yuen went on to say that once he received the information, securities operations were still operating as usual. Still, some transactions “only need a delay of a few seconds or even a fraction of a second.

“It’s a big deal.” Although each such time earns very little money, the number of transactions is huge. “He (Sun Lijun) is one of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange software operators.”

Elmer Yuen stressed: “This is a huge deal, but it is difficult to find proof—no one checks whether the time of each transaction is correct.” He thinks this is one of the reasons why Sun Lijun is accused of manipulating the stock market. He added that Sun Lijun only controls the Hong Kong Stock Exchange because other powers control the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets.

According to Yuen, Sun Lijun had a special status in Hong Kong due to his tight connection with the Tsarists—elite Russians in Hong Kong. As a result, no one dared to disobey him.

Sun Lijun holds evidence that the CCP concealed the epidemic

On Sept. 30 last year, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection issued a notice that Sun Lijun had been expelled from the party and expelled from civil service. The announcement used harsh words, saying that Sun Lijun voluntarily left his position on the front lines to fight against the new Covid-19 pandemic. However, the Chinese authorities did not mention the “separately storing many secret documents” accusation against Sun this time.

Elmer Yuen analyzed that Sun Lijun had gathered classified documents on the CCP’s concealment of the virus.

Elmer Yuen pointed out that Sun Lijun was a member of the Central Steering Group sent by the central government to Hubei during the COVID-19 outbreak. After Sun Lijun arrived in Wuhan, he had access to the top secrets of the public security system, including audio recordings between Wuhan officials and the central government. If evidence of the CCP’s cover-up of the epidemic is released, it will threaten the CCP’s dominance. Once exposed that Xi Jinping publicly concealed the outbreak initially, “Xi didn’t even think about re-election.”

Elmer Yuen said that Sun Lijun had sent these files abroad as insurance. Sun may have negotiated to reduce his crimes by using these highly confidential documents from the Chinese regime.

Persecution of Falun Gong

After Sun Lijun was deposed, his crimes of persecuting Falun Gong were also exposed.

Gao Zhisheng, a human rights lawyer in China who the CCP is still persecuting, once pointed out that the 610 Office that Sun is in charge of is a “powerful gangster organization” that commits countless crimes. In 2013, after Sun Lijun took over the 1st Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security and became the Deputy Director of the Central “610 Office”, he actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

On Dec. 27, 2018, the “World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong” issued a notice to prosecute those who were primarily responsible for the persecution of lawyers during the July 9th, 2015 event, including Sun Lijun.
