Several earthquakes hit Maerkang City of Aba Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China’s Sichuan Province on June 10.

According to China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 hit Maerkang City at 0:30 on June 10. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 kilometers. 

The China Earthquake Networks Center said the epicenter was monitored at 32.27 degrees north latitude and 101.82 degrees east longitude.

Nearly two hours later, there was another 6.0-magnitude earthquake with a focal depth of 13 kilometers.

From 0:30 a.m. to 5:45 a.m. on June 10, a total of 11 earthquakes with a magnitude of 3 or above rattled Aba Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. Ten tremors were in Maerkang City, and one was in Hongyuan County.

As Global Times reported at about 9 a.m., no casualties have been reported so far.

According to Chinese media News QQ, before the earthquakes occurred on June 10, a woman in Aba filmed a strange scene. The fish suddenly jumped out of the water one after another before the earthquake. [Video 0:00-0:13]

At 17:00 on June 1, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Lushan, a county under the administration of Ya’an City in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
