Yao Changxu, former deputy director of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau and a first-level inspector, was investigated on April 8 for alleged “serious violations of discipline and law.”
Yao has served as the deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau since February 2015.
Most recently, Deng Huilin, deputy mayor of Chongqing and chief of public security, was dismissed in June 2020 for allegedly accepting bribes. In addition, he was included in the list of former vice-minister of Public Security Sun Lijun’s political gang.
Before Deng’s fall, Wang Lijun and He Ting, who both served as Deputy Mayors of Chongqing Municipal Government, were successively investigated.
Wang was sentenced to 15 years in prison in September 2012 for accepting bribes. Five years later, He Ting was expelled from the Party and dismissed from his position for serious discipline violations.
