Less than a week before the 33rd year anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre, June 4, the date that the massacre happened, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is tightening security both online and offline. The Tiananmen massacre is also known as the June Fourth Incident.

Security is strengthened outside of Tiananmen Square, where entry is prohibited on the grounds of epidemic prevention, and witnesses are almost out of touch with the outside world.

The Chinese regime uses various means to control dissidents. Foreign reporters tried to call several witnesses in mainland China, but they could not be reached. Fang Zheng, a witness, living in the U.S., said that during the period around June 4, he could not receive any overseas calls.

Fang Zheng, a pro-democracy activist who had his legs crushed by a Chinese tank, told Chinese language media, Xiwang Zhisheng 希望之声, that the communist regime has been trying hard to cover up the truth about the June Fourth Incident. He said the massacre is clear to everyone. It was a bloody and brutal crackdown on unarmed students and citizens at Tiananmen Square in Beijing by a brutal communist regime. The troops suppressed the protesters with machine guns and tanks, causing many deaths.

Another witness from Beijing, Pete Lin, recalled his experience of the bloody crackdown on students in Tiananmen Square. He said that he lived quite far from Tiananmen Square but still could hear the sound of gunfire all night long. Lin told Xiwang Zhisheng 希望之声 reporter how his friends and their relatives were killed during the massacre.

During this occasion, victims seek justice for their loved ones.

Zhang Xianling is one of the founders of Tiananmen Mothers. The group includes mothers who had their children killed in the Tiananmen massacre on June 4, 1989.

For 33 years, the Tiananmen Mothers have sought justice for their children who were killed in the June Fourth Incident.

Zhang Xianling, an 85-year-old Tiananmen mother, said that she has been under surveillance for 33 years and that the road to justice for her deceased children is difficult, but she will not give up until justice is served.

The Tiananmen Square Massacre is the incident that happened during a student-led protest in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, in 1989.
