China will hold the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference this week. However, the Chinese regime has been making frequent high-level personnel changes recently.

On Feb. 28, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China met and announced the appointment of Tang Dengjie as Minister of Civil Affairs, removing Li Jiheng from the post of Minister of Civil Affairs.

Tang Dengjie was born in Shanghai in June 1964 is a native of Jianhu, Jiangsu. According to the public resume, Tang joined the Chinese Communist Party in August 1991 and has held many important positions to date. Since July 2020, he has served as deputy secretary and deputy director (minister level) of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Li Jiheng, the departing Minister of Civil Affairs, was born in January 1957 and is a native of Guigang, Guangxi. In October 2019, he was elevated from Secretary of Inner Mongolia to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs is responsible for pensions, child welfare, charity, and other matters, and it is the most corrupt ministry.

In 2018, the Disciplinary Inspection and Supervision Team of the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Civil Affairs announced that a total of 14 people responsible for China Welfare Lottery Center had violated management regulations, resulting in massive losses of state-owned assets, and 12 people had been placed on a review list.
