Taiwan’s National Defense Ministry announced four fighter jets and an anti-submarine helicopter from China entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Saturday, April 23.
The Taiwanese air force immediately dispatched an air patrol to respond, broadcasting expulsion and monitoring anti-aircraft missiles.
Aside from the four J-16 fighter jets, there was one KA-28 anti-submarine helicopter.
The Liberty Times wrote that tracking the helicopter’s journey revealed a Chinese naval vessel in Taiwan’s southwest waters.
Taiwan’s combat air patrol issued radio warnings and deployed air defense missile systems to track the planes. After a short flight, the Chinese warplanes took a similar path out of Taiwan’s ADIZ.
