Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India on Friday, March 25.
Wang’s trip is the visit of the most senior Chinese official after a deadly clash on the China-India border in 2020.
India Express reported, attending the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting on March 22, in Islamabad, Pakistan, Wang said: “On Kashmir, we have heard again today the calls of many of our Islamic friends. And China shares the same hope.”
This drew a reaction from India. Arindam Bagchi, India Foreign Spokesman spokesperson, said: “We reject the uncalled reference to India by the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his speech at the Opening Ceremony.”
For a long time, Kashmir has been the leading cause of conflict between India and Pakistan.
