Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), passed away, reported Secretchina.com on December 4. However, the tragedies of his persecution of Falun Gong are indelible.
Wu Zuolai is the former deputy director of the Scientific Research Department of the Chinese National Academy of Arts and director of the Literary Theory and Criticism Magazine.
He revealed in 1999 that Jiang Zemin, who had just left office, forced the CCP heir, Hu Jintao, to suppress Falun Gong.
Falun Gong is an ancient spiritual practice. Its three basic principles are Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
In an exclusive interview with The Epoch Times on November 30, Wu Zuolai said, “Falun Gong is a peaceful organization. In many places in Beijing, they practiced exercises together, especially many elderly.”
The cause of the persecution may be that too many Chinese people, even some military units, also practice Falun Gong. In addition, people practiced Falun Gong for physical and mental health, while Jiang Zemin feared this matter would endanger his regime.
It began on April 25, 1999. Before that, a youth magazine in Tianjin published an article attacking Falun Gong and its founder.
The police used violence to beat and detain Falun Gong practitioners.
On the same day, more than 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners went to Fuyou Street and Xi’anmen Street to appeal the unreasonable treatment. Falun Gong representatives asked to see Premier Zhu Rongji.
Wu Zuolai said: “Falun Gong used a very peaceful demonstration. Zhu Rongji conducted a dialogue or internal mediation to resolve the situation peacefully.”
Wu Zuolai pointed out, “Jiang Zemin thinks this matter will endanger his regime.”
On the evening of April 25, 1999, Jiang Zemin wrote to the Politburo Standing Committee and other relevant leaders, proposing that “the Communist Party must defeat Falun Gong.”
At that time, Jiang Zemin had come to the end of his term as party leader, while Hu Jintao was the heir to the Communist Party of China.
Under Jiang Zemin’s proposal, Hu Jintao must “elevate it to the political level of subverting the state power to have legitimacy within the CCP system.”
In July 1999, Thousands of media controlled by the CCP spread anti-Falun Gong propaganda. They even directed a “self-immolation false flag” event in January 2001.
The CCP has turned the human world into hell on earth as millions of Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested and thrown into prisons to be tortured.
Countless tortures were inflicted on Falun Gong practitioners, including beating, whipping, electric shock, freezing, binding, long-term shackles, burning, and scalding. Also, hanging, standing, or kneeling for a long time, piercing with bamboo sticks and wire, and rape, were a part of their everyday life.
However, people still heard Falun Gong exercise music in the compound of the Beijing Military Region.
Wu Zuolai said: “I only knew that they were still practicing the exercises in the military compound not too far from our unit.”
He added, “So this angered Jiang Zemin even more.”
Wu Zuolai pointed out, “Jiang Zemin felt that Falun Gong was so powerful that it had infiltrated the CCP’s army.”
Wu Zuolai said that Jiang Zemin asked Falun Gong practitioners not to practice anymore and admit that they were wrong. Otherwise, they will go to jail.”
One method of “economic ruin” is to use employment as a means of coercion.
For example, the CCP ordered work units to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up practicing by revoking their diplomas.
It also prohibits students from participating in National civil servant, public institution, and state-owned company exams. (a prerequisite for employment).
Wu Zuolai said: “His coming to power was an accident for himself or the CCP system.”
This unprecedented CCP persecution of Falun Gong lasted 23 years. However, the persecution failed because freedom of belief is a natural right of mankind.
It’s also because this is a battle between Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and Fake-Evil.
