Li Jiexiang, 58, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Qinghai Provincial People’s Congress and former vice governor, was investigated on Apr. 7 for alleged “serious violations of discipline and law.”

Li was the 3rd deputy provincial cadre to be sacked in Qinghai after the 19th National Congress, and the 17th central management official investigated this year.

Li’s two colleagues, who served in senior positions, were sacked before Li’s dismissal. They are Wen Guodong, a former vice-governor of Qinghai province, and Yun Guangzhong, Secretary of the Hohhot Municipal Party Committee.

In March, Wen Guodong was sentenced to 11 years in prison and was fined $314 thousand for accepting bribes, while Yun Guangzhong received a charge of 14 years in jail in November 2020 and was fined $863 thousand for the same charge.
