As Global Times reported on May 2, eight people have been rescued from the building collapse in Changsha, Central China’s Hunan Province.

Previously, on April 29, a self-constructed residential building in Wangcheng District, Changsha City. 23 people were trapped inside. The incident took place at noon. This six-storey building includes a hotel, apartments and a cinema.

Xinhua News Agency on May 1, reported that Changsha police arrested nine people in connection with the incident.

The building’s owner and three others were detained on suspicion of causing a major-liability accident.

According to investigations, on April 13, an engineering testing company issued a faked house safety appraisal report.

The company’s legal representative and four technicians were suspected of the crime of providing false documents.
