Taiwan National Defense Ministry said that Three Chinese military helicopters entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on May 10.
One People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) WZ-10 attack helicopter crossed the median line in Taiwan’s ADIZ southwest corner.
Taiwan also tracked two Ka-28 anti-submarine warfare helicopters in a different southwest corner region.
Taiwan responded by sending planes, radio warnings, and air defense missile systems to follow the helicopters.
Taiwan News said that Chinese aircraft had breached the median line twice this year, the first time on January 31.
This month, China has deployed 39 military aircraft into Taiwan’s identification zone, including 14 fighter jets, 13 spotter planes, six bombers, and six helicopters.
An ADIZ is an extended area beyond a country’s airspace where Air traffic controllers ask approaching aircraft to identify themselves.
