The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) reported on April 16 that Yu Luming, director of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and vice chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was investigated for alleged serious violation of discipline and law.
The report did not disclose any further details.
Yu had held several top-ranking positions in the healthcare industry. He started work as vice-chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in 2018. Since 2020, he has served as the Beijing Municipal Health Commission director.
So far, Beijing has witnessed many personnel rearrangements in recent years, with several top-ranking officials being dismissed after investigations.
Most recently, Li Wei, a former vice-chairman of the Beijing Political Consultative Conference, was sentenced to nine years in prison on charges of taking bribes of more than 32.96 million yuan (around $5 million) on March 18.
Li Wanjun, former director of the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau, was investigated on the same day.
In 2021, Wang Xinyuan, first-level police commissioner of Beijing Public Security Bureau; Li Jianping, a former second-level inspector of the Beijing High Court; She Guiqing, vice president of the Beijing Internet Court; Tian Yuxi vice president of Beijing Second Intermediate People’s Court were all under investigation.
